So I made a yummy chocolate cake…which completely stuck to the bottom of the cake pan. So this is the post where I turned a great cake fail into an easy chocolate trifle (and bonus: it was a kid activity because they helped me with the layers!).

Easy Chocolate Trifle Recipe. Great no-bake activity for kids.
Ingredients
- You will need:
- Chocolate cake (from scratch or store bought – whatever is easier)
- Whipping Cream
- Cut strawberries (1 package will do)
Instructions
- Wash and cut strawberries
- Make whipping cream and refrigerate (at least 20 minutes please)
- Take chocolate cake and crumble it (using fingers or fork)
- Using a clear bowl layer the 3 ingredients in this order:
- Crumbled cake, strawberries, whipped cream, crumbled cake, strawberries, whipped cream.
- Set aside a few cut strawberries to garnish on final layer of whipping cream.
- Sprinkle with melted chocolate as finishing touch if you like.
- Refrigerate 1 hour before serving. Serve straight from fridge.
